About the Collector
The CMR Private Collection began several years ago with a focus on Cadillacs — the big American convertibles that first inspired a lifelong passion. As the years went by and more time could be devoted to the hobby, the collection expanded into other great domestics including Buicks, Lincolns, Oldsmobiles, and Thunderbirds. Each car is carefully chosen,
often low-mileage examples, and many have been restored with a dedication to authenticity — from paint colors to numbers-matching drivetrains — always returned to the way they left the factory.

While the passion for classic Cadillac convertibles remains at the heart of the collection, the evolution has embraced the muscle era as well. Today the building also includes Buick GS, Oldsmobile 442, Pontiac 455 HO convertibles, Chevelles, Monte Carlos, Mustangs, and Shelbys. The goal is not only to preserve these rare automobiles but also to share and enjoy
them with younger generations, blending the elegance of luxury convertibles with the excitement of American performance.

Historic Restoration

At CMR Private Collection, restoration is at the core of our passion. Every car begins its journey in our dedicated restoration facility, where our craftsmen handle everything from minor detailing and paint correction to full frame-up and frame-off restorations. With decades of experience, most of this work is completed in-house, ensuring authenticity, accuracy, and the highest level of care.
Most of the cars we acquire are low-mileage, highly original examples — very non-molested cars to begin with. From there, we take them to the next level, elevating each one through careful restoration, correction, and preservation. The focus is always on keeping originality intact while bringing out the very best in every car.
Our facility is more like a hospital for classic automobiles than a workshop. Every car is treated with patience and precision, with close attention paid to even the smallest details. If needed, we even handle most of our upholstery work in-house, ensuring consistency and authenticity throughout the process.
This is one of the greatest joys of the hobby — making sure each car is brought back to the way it was when new. Every detail matters, from the correct whitewall or bias-ply tires, to factory-supplied finishes, to the proper bolts with the right markings. Nothing is overlooked, because it’s the fine details that truly bring a car back to its original character. Our restoration facility does not perform work for the public — all projects are performed only on vehicles within the CMR Private Collection.
Once a car is complete, it is transported to our separate climate-controlled building, where the finished collection is housed. There, the cars are preserved and enjoyed in a museum-like setting, allowing them to be appreciated as rolling works of art. Only then are they added to the website, where their stories and photographs are shared.
